Hospital Admissions - Directly Standardised Rates
07 August 2012
Hospital Admissions have recently updated for 2009/11 and are split by diagnosis.
Directly age and sex standardised admission rates are per 1000 population for admissions. The rates are pooled for the 3 years to allow sufficient numbers of events for calculation of rates.
Most datasets include the following age bands: All Ages and Aged under 75. Patients can be admitted many times over a 3 year period. This dataset will contain multiple admissions of the same patient so rates for small areas should be treated with caution as a high rate could be the result of multiple admissions of 1 or 2 patients.
Each dataset also includes number of events, and an upper and lower confidence limit. To view these, please click on the toggle associates tab above the data table. Click here to view a screenshot.
