Description: The strategy seeks to develop a cultural vision which is owned by all agencies, organisations and individuals with an interest in developing and delivering cultural opportunity for the District. The strategy: Provides the vision and direction for the development of the Council's cultural provision and, hence, the basis for investment decisions. Establishes a series of strategic aims to inform the vision of other current, and potential, providers of cultural opportunity, and of other local stakeholders. Demonstrates the importance of developing culture within the district in order to contribute to the delivery of local, regional and national polices and strategies. Updates existing policy in light of recent influences and service performance. Details the process for reviewing and updating the strategy.
