Description: This report examines the link between social exclusion, transport and the location of services.
Objectives:
- Land-use planning and accessibility planning (as part of LTPs) to ensure that services are accessible to residents.
- Improve accessibility to jobs, education and learning, healthcare and healthy affordable food.
- Reduce social exclusion by improving transport services particularly for people living in areas of deprivation.
- Make streets safer by reducing crime and the fear of crime in and around public transport, reducing road casualties, and by taking into account walking and cycling environments.
