Description
The Council maintains a network of on street ticket machines (around 130 in number) to enable customers to purchase Robin Hood Cards and associated travel products (Season tickets, Flexible Days tickets and PAYG top ups). Pre Pandemic these machines carried around 250,000 transactions per year and were fundamental to the public being able to access the best value multi operator ticketing prices and travel across the Public Transport network in Nottingham. The Ticket Machine estate is reaching end of life and the machines are becoming more difficult and expensive to maintain. Online and mobile services have been improved (there is now a website and mobile app that you can top up Robin Hood Cards with). The council have also enabled all Tram Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) to top up all Robin Hood products, there are 118 Tram TVMs. Robin Hood products can also be purchased in person at the Nottingham Travel and Tourism centre.

Description
This proposal would reduce the Council’s base budget contribution to this service from £530,300 to £430,300 p.a. This proposal will be included in the public consultation due to go live 19th December 2023. The proposed budget allocation will continue to fund all the statutory element of the service in addition to some, albeit reduced enhancement. The Public Health grant is secured for 2024/25 and will be supplemented by the attraction of a further grant from Public Health to support YP’s financial wellbeing, subject to relevant approvals. Details of the proposed supplementary offer to be drawn up by the supplier as part of service negotiations for 24/25.

Description
This report sets out the requirements for Nottingham City Council, Corporate Landlord Services to introduce a charging mechanism for public conveniences to offset the operating costs of the service. Without introducing a charging mechanism, Nottingham City Council would have to investigate the option of permanently closing the public conveniences. The rate will be either 30p or 50p per use to be introduced before April 2024 therefore allowing for adequate notice to users of the public convenience. This EIA will be updated following any changes. There will be no concessions.
