Since April 2010 unitary and county councils have had a statutory duty to assess the economic conditions of their area, in conjunction with district authorities and local partners. This requires an analysis of economic conditions in the local area in order to get a more accurate, evidence based picture of the opportunities and challenges facing the local economy.
As well as producing a detailed assessment, we have developed a summary outlining the strategic economic opportunities for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The Local Economic Assessment has been developed jointly by researchers from Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council.
